John has been running his entire life.  Racing from grade school to  The University of Louisville with the cross country and track and field teams where he specialized in the steeplechase and the 10k.  John has been able to compete across the country, as well as abroad.    Obstacle races have brought John back into the running and racing scene.  He has competed at the elite level in some of the largest, most recognized obstacle races, and took part in the Inaugural Obstacle Course Racing World Championships this year.  He strongly believes obstacle racing will soon be considered a serious sport, and embraces the fact that all fitness levels can have fun challenging themselves.

John has worked hard to design a FUN event that everyone can participate in whether they race, run, jog or walk.  His unique twist of combining cross country and road racing with urban style obstacles both natural and temporary as well as CrossFit challenges, all taking place on one of the world’s best riverfront parks has led to the creation of The Waterfront Challenge.  John has competed in countless races in his life and knows how to put on a professional race.  His experience in the entertainment industry for the past decade has also given him the ability to throw one hell of a party.  He wants to promote fitness, running, and the new sport of obstacle racing, all in a party like atmosphere.
