Waterfront Park is truly the emerald heart of the city.
Since 1986, the Waterfront Development Corporation has been striving to unite Louisville’s underutilized waterfront areas with the surrounding city. The result: Waterfront Park, 85 acres of green in a bustling urban waterfront neighborhood. (And lots of oxygen, too!)
For those who have never had the pleasure of living in a city with a vibrant urban parks system, it’s hard to imagine the many uses and benefits that urban parks offer to downtown workers, residents, and visitors. Louisville Waterfront Park is the front door to Kentucky, a playground for people of all ages, and a gathering place for folks from all over the community. It offers a grand view of the river, space for concerts and festivals, quiet places to read a book, picnic spaces for your family and friends.
The Waterfront Development Corporation is a non-profit organization, so we rely heavily on donations to fund construction projects and special programs in the park. We are currently raising funds for the Big Four Pedestrian & Bicycle Bridge in Phase III of the park and the Clean Team summer job program for area youth. For ease of payment, pledges can be paid in installments over two or three years.
Gifts are tax deductible. Donations to Waterfront Park are used solely for capital construction or special projects and are never used for general operating expenses.
If you are interested in donating to the park, print and fill out the WATERFRONT PARK DONATION/PLEDGE FORM and mail it to the address at the bottom of the form.
